While the iPhone 16 has only just started finding its way into user hands, the next generation of iPhones—the iPhone 17—is being readied for release and will have a significant camera improvement applied across all four models, according to a recent report by analyst Jeff Pu. This is quite a big upgrade from the current 12MP sensor used by the iPhone 15 series.
We’ve seen the first rumors of camera improvements in the iPhone 17 just a few months ago. Indeed, famous analyst Ming-Chi Kuo forecasted that at least one model would be with a 24MP front camera earlier this year. Higher megapixel count, more complex lens—experts nod in unison that all these things will yield quite visibly improved image quality.
Other than the camera, there are further speculations on the iPhone 17. According to reports, resin-coated copper (RCC) components have been rather late for implementation at Apple, which will affect the whole thickness of the device and how big of a battery it is able to accommodate. Lastly, most of us thought a 2nm chip would make an appearance on the iPhone 17, but now that seems more like it will appear on the iPhone 18.
As usual, one has to take these rumors with a pinch of salt. Although this source is credible, things can always change when products are in development.Phone 17 Slim will have a 6.6-inch display and may be powered by Apple’s A19 chipset. It could use an aluminium-titanium alloy.
