Apple has officially unveiled the iPhone Air, the thinnest iPhone ever created, measuring just 5.6mm thick and weighing 165g. This new model, which replaces the Plus series in the iPhone lineup, is designed to be a balance of power and portability, featuring a pro-level chip in an ultra-slim chassis.

Design & Display

The iPhone Air sports a striking design with a Grade 5 titanium frame, made with 80% recycled titanium. It is protected by Ceramic Shield 2 on both the front and back, which Apple claims makes it its most durable iPhone to date, with 3x better scratch resistance and 4x greater resistance to cracks.
The device features a 6.5-inch Super Retina XDR display with ProMotion technology, allowing for adaptive refresh rates up to 120Hz for incredibly smooth scrolling and gaming. The display also boasts a peak brightness of 3,000 nits and an anti-reflective coating for enhanced outdoor viewing.
Performance & Battery

At the heart of the iPhone Air is the A19 Pro chip, the same chip found in the Pro models. This powerful chip includes a 6-core CPU that is up to 40% faster than the chip in the iPhone 14 Pro. The iPhone Air also features Apple’s new C1X modem and N1 wireless chip, enabling improved power efficiency, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread support.
Despite its thin profile, Apple states the iPhone Air offers “all-day battery life,” with up to 27 hours of video playback. It supports fast charging, reaching 50% in just 30 minutes.
Cameras

The iPhone Air’s camera system is centered around a 48MP Fusion Main camera, which combines the capabilities of two cameras into one. This allows it to capture stunningly detailed super-high-resolution photos (24MP or 48MP by default) and includes a built-in 2x Telephoto lens.

For selfies and video calls, the iPhone Air has an 18MP Center Stage front camera. This camera is designed to offer flexible framing, automatic group selfies, and features like Dual Capture video, which allows simultaneous recording with the front and rear cameras. The camera system also supports low-light and Night mode photography and professional video recording up to 4K at 60 fps.
iOS & New Features

The iPhone Air comes pre-installed with iOS 26, which introduces a new “Liquid Glass” design and a more vibrant Lock Screen with 3D effects. It also debuts Apple Intelligence, an on-device personal intelligence system that enhances various features:
- Live Translation: Automatically translates texts in Messages and provides live translated captions in FaceTime and spoken translations in the Phone app.
- Writing Tools: Offers proofreading, rewriting, and summarization capabilities.
- Visual Intelligence: Allows you to search, ask questions, and take action on what is on your screen.
- Clean Up: An AI-powered tool to remove unwanted distractions from photos.
Other notable features include an eSIM-only design for seamless connectivity and a customizable Action button.
