Apple may get a chunk of the budget Android segment if iPhone SE 4 sells massively.
Want to shift from Android to iOS? If the price is the main issue, you may start your iOS journey with the affordable price tag of the iPhone SE 4.
A tipster posted on X (formerly Twitter) the expected price range of the upcoming iPhone SE 4. Not only they unveiled the range, but they also claimed that the price tag won’t exceed USD 500 or PHP 29K in direct conversion.
@Revegnus1 claimed that iPhone SE 4 will have a starting price of USD 429 (PHP 24.9K direct conversion) or possibly 10% increase from the previous model. If true, Apple will likely shake the current state of things in the budget smartphone segment.
Right now, that segment is occupied by numerous Chinese brands, giving consumers countless options for a bargain. However, budget Android smartphones have several major downsides compared to flagship models.
Cheap Android phones tend to lack support for the next major OS update and are usually left with security patches for a year or two. Moreover, such devices aren’t rich in features and simply look like “better” ones than feature phones.
In contrast, the iPhone SE 4 is rich in software features because it will share the same iOS version as the flagship models. Apple is known for extending major software upgrades to many of its devices. Thus, the PHP 25K includes multiple years of support from the tech giant.
While Samsung has introduced OneUI 6.1 to some mid-range and budget phones, versions for these devices lack AI features found on top-tier devices.
Do you think the iPhone SE 4 can cut through the Android budget segment?
