A bold new camera design

The renders show a large square camera island with heavily rounded corners. Three rear cameras are arranged in a connected layout, creating a distinctive futuristic design.

The black variant also appears to feature blue accent lighting around parts of the camera module and the lower section of the phone, giving it a stronger gaming-focused look. The frame appears to have rounded edges, which could improve comfort during extended gaming sessions.

A white variant has also appeared in the leaks. However, iQOO has not officially confirmed the renders, and their exact source remains unclear, so the final design could still change.

Three 50MP cameras?

Previous leaks suggest the iQOO 16 could feature three 50MP rear cameras.

The rumored setup includes:

  • 50MP main camera with a 1/1.3-inch sensor and f/1.68 aperture
  • 50MP ultra-wide camera
  • 50MP periscope telephoto camera

Flagship gaming hardware

The iQOO 16 is also rumored to feature:

  • 6.85-inch Samsung-made flat 2K display
  • 165Hz refresh rate
  • Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro
  • Dedicated display chip
  • 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor
  • USB 3.2
  • Dual speakers
  • IP68 and IP69 ratings

Battery capacity could be another major highlight. The phone is expected to pack an 8,500mAh battery with 100W wired charging and wireless charging support.

Compact tablet coming too

iQOO is also teasing a compact tablet expected to use a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6-series chipset.

Both the iQOO 16 and the tablet are expected to launch in China by the end of September or in early October.
