Lava has expanded its budget smartphone lineup with the launch of the Lava Smart 4 Plus, a new addition to the company’s Smart series that targets buyers looking for an affordable smartphone without compromising on essential features. The launch follows the recent debut of the Lava Bold N2 earlier this month.
The Lava Smart 4 Plus features a 6.75-inch HD+ LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate, offering smoother scrolling and a better viewing experience for everyday use.
Powering the device is the UNISOC 9863A octa-core processor paired with 4GB of RAM. It also supports 4GB of virtual RAM expansion, while storage comes in at 64GB, which can be expanded by up to 512GB via a microSD card. The smartphone runs Android 15 Go Edition out of the box.
For photography, the Smart 4 Plus sports a 13MP primary rear camera accompanied by a secondary AI camera. Camera features include HDR, Portrait, and Night modes. On the front, there’s a 5MP selfie camera for video calls and self-portraits.
Keeping the device running is a 5,000mAh battery with support for 10W charging via a USB Type-C port.
The smartphone also includes a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, 3.5mm headphone jack, FM Radio, bottom-ported speaker, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, and Dual SIM support with a dedicated microSD card slot.
One of its highlights is its IP64 dust and water resistance, making it more durable for everyday use and better suited to withstand different weather conditions.

Price and availability
The Lava Smart 4 Plus comes in Nilgiri Blue and Himalayan Silver color options and is priced at ₹9,999 (around USD 117 / ₱6,700).
Lava is offering a 1-year warranty along with free home service. The smartphone is available through various financing schemes across offline retailers and service providers in India.
Commenting on the launch, Sumit Singh, SVP and Head of Product at Lava International Limited, said the Smart series was created for the sub-₹10,000 segment, with a focus on design, durability, and battery life. He added that the Smart 4 Plus addresses key concerns of Indian users by offering an IP64-rated build, Band 28 support for improved network coverage, a large display, and guaranteed security updates, all while maintaining an affordable price point.
