Lava Yuva Pro drops in India, entry-level smartphone with triple 13MP cameras

Yes, you’ve read it right: for only around ₱5,000, you can have three rear cameras — all 13 MP ones!

Indian smartphone brand Lava just announced a new budget-offering, the Lava Yuva Pro. With an understandable waterdrop notch display with 20:9 aspect ratio, huge battery capacity, a mirror-esque back finish, and the unbelievable tri-13MP rear camera setup, all that and more for around $94.

To kick things off, a 6.517-inch, 720p IPS LCD display that’s in HD+ and 60Hz refresh rate are crammed inside the Lava Yuva Pro.

Performance wise, a MediaTek Helio chipset with 3GB of RAM runs the whole system but until now, Lava is yet to announce what kind of Helio chipset the Yuva Pro will be having, other rumors said that either the Helio P35 rebranded G37 is included inside or a much more powerful Helio G88 which has been a running joke amongst the Tecno community.

As for the internal storage, a somewhat lacking 32GB of internal storage is included, but it is expected for a phone at this price range, it’s still expandable via microSDXC though. It runs out of the box already with an Android 12 Go Edition OS, but the website again, doesn’t give any confirmation about this.

What the highlight of the Lava Yuva Pro is the three 13MP rear cameras with 8MP selfie shooter. It doubles down on its price to specs ratio with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for under $100. It also has face unlock capabilities.

A 5,000mAh battery with 10W charging that’s also in USB Type-C (thank goodness) juices up the Lava Yuva Pro. According to the company, it can provide up to 37 hours of 4G talk time and 320 hours of standby time. The phone also offers connectivity options such as Dual Nano-SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and the coveted 3.5mm headphone jack. The Lava Yuva Pro measures 164.4 x 75.8 x 8.9mm and weighs around 191 grams.

The Lava Yuva Pro is priced at RS 7,799 (or ₱5,500). It is now available for purchase on Lava India website and is available in three colors like Metallic Black, Metallic Blue, and Metallic Grey.
