We just got our first look at the new Legion Tab from Lenovo, and it looks like we’re in for a treat.

It looks like Lenovo is taking a “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” approach with the Legion Tab Gen 4, albeit with a few tasteful upgrades. While the current trend seems to point towards having slimmer and larger screens for productivity and media consumption, Lenovo is holding its ground and continuing with its tried and tested 8.8-inch form factor.

They’re even doubling down with official teasers promising a thinner, lighter, stronger, and longer (pertaining to the battery, not the width), all while bringing AI combat support, possibly hinting at integrated features that will enhance the gaming experience.
While the physical form factor didn’t see much improvements, the internals, on the other hand will receive the full force of it. Industry insiders have pointed to the Legion Tab using a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, which is quite a leap considering that the Legion Tab Gen 2 used Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1.
As for the display, it is expected to receive some improvements, specifically a bump to 3K while maintaining its high refresh rate. Battery will also see some improvements with leaks pointing to a potential 1,000 mAh increase over the previous model.
One feature that we think is a godsend, especially for a tablet of this caliber, is the return of expandable storage via microSD. Given that this is a gaming-focused device, and games of this era have been getting bigger and bigger in storage, it’s definitely a useful feature to have, eliminating the need for uninstalling games or cashing in for the top spec variant just to have a bigger storage.
The new Legion Tab will launch in May, but that’s for China. We’ll have to wait and pray that Lenovo will bless us with the Global version. Again, as with any leaks and rumors, we advise that you take all of these with a grain of salt as these are subject to change anytime. But, if the current leaks are to be believed, then we are in for a treat, so stay tuned to our official channels to stay updated on the latest developments.
