A few hours ago, netizens in the Philippines experienced an odd event, well, it isn’t really odd. I mean, slow internet connection speeds is pretty common here in the Philippines
June 6 11:40 am update: Look like the issue has been fixed.
There appears to be a significant outage in the Philippines that has affected popular websites like Google, YouTube, Gmail, and Facebook, if you’ve noticed that your internet has been running slowly recently. As of recently, multiple websites, including Google and YouTube, are down, according to Downdetector.ph, while PLDT and Smart appear to be experiencing connectivity problems.
PLDT released a statement to the ongoing internet problem:
“One of our submarine cable partners confirms a loss in some of its internet bandwidth capacity, and thus causing slower internet browsing. We are now working with our partners to provide alternate capacity that would restore the browsing experience in the next few hours.”
But how can we temporarily restore our internet connection?
Us here at Unbox Diaries used a VPN for the meantime to temporarily restore our connection speed.
For the meantime, if you guys want to temporarily restore your internet connection to its normal speed using a vpn, follow these methods:
- Download ProtonVPN at the APKPure website. Why APKPure? As of the time of writing this article, Google playstore does not work because of the outage.
2. Install the app, create an account, and the rest will easily come.
3. Once you are able to successfully setup the VPN, a VPN icon on the top right of your screen will appear.
We don’t have any idea yet when will the problem be resolved but we hope that it can be fixed as soon as possible.
