“Maria Clara at Ibarra” fans can easily re-watch the Kapuso network’s groundbreaking series through Netflix starting in April! OMG “FiLay” shippers, LET US CELEBRATE!
Maria Clara at Ibarra on Netflix!
On Thursday, GMA-7 announced that “Maria Clara at Ibarra” will be available for online streaming via Netflix starting April 14.
To those who missed it, the TV show tells the story of nursing student Klay (played by Barbie Forteza) who questioned the significance of taking her Rizal course amid personal issues she is facing. With the goal of changing her perception, her professor gives her the assignment to read Jose Rizal’s “Noli Me Tangere.”
Klay’s journey to self-discovery and making an impact starts when she falls asleep and wakes up inside the novel. She then gets entangled with main character Crisostomo Ibarra (played by Dennis Trillo) and his fiancée Maria Clara (played by Julie Anne San Jose).
The Gen Z Maria Clara also meets Fidel (played by David Licauco), who eventually becomes her love interest. This series is groundbreaking because of the aforementioned novel by our national hero Dr. Jose Rizal, as well as the ingenuity of the script. The theatrics and acting of Barbie Forteza as the series’ lead is also adorable and humorous, along with an all-star cast, the series is very enjoyable to watch. 👀😌
Are you all excited about this mga ka-woohoo? 😍
