Not being outdone by Qualcomm, MediaTek is anticipated to debut the Dimensity 9400e, previously known as the Dimensity 9350.

How does it stack up?
The reason for designating the chip as the D9400e is because the performance gains it has closely resembled that of the 9400 series rather than the 9300 lineup, which already has the 9300+. Under the hood, the D9400e will feature an all-big-core CPU design, doing away with efficiency cores to prioritize performance.
This configuration consists of one Cortex-X4 prime core, three additional Cortex-X4 cores, and four Cortex-A720 cores. These cores will reportedly offer increased clock speeds, further elevating the prime Cortex-X4 cores to higher heights, potentially outperforming Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.
What about the GPU?
Details about the D9400e’s GPU remain to be seen, but it is highly expected to retain the same Immortalis-G720 GPU from the 9300 series. On the upside, AI performance may see an uplift through MediaTek’s APU 790 and its NeuroPilot architecture.
Is this MediaTek’s answer to the SD 8s Gen 4?
The D9400e is expected to directly compete with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 in terms of performance, as well as the price range that these phones come in. Both companies will target the flagship to sub-flagship categories.
But, unlike Qualcomm, MediaTek still hasn’t set its sights on a possible launch date. However, industry insiders believe that the chipset is coming soon, with potential releases in upcoming smartphones later this year.
