MediaTek has recently unveiled its latest mid-range chipset, the Dimensity 8350. This new SoC is slated to power OPPO’s Reno13 series and the OPPO Pad 3.
While the Dimensity 8350 shares many similarities with its predecessor, the 8300, MediaTek highlights a key improvement: the new StarSpeed Engine for gaming. This engine promises a 10% reduction in power consumption and a 24% increase in scene transition speed. However, it remains unclear whether these gains are relative to the 8300 or a different benchmark.
Key Specifications of the Dimensity 8350:
- CPU: Octa-core (4x Cortex-A715, 4x Cortex-A510)
- GPU: Mali-G615 MC6
- Memory: LPDDR5X RAM (up to 8533Mbps), UFS 4.0 storage
- Connectivity: 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4
- AI: MediaTek NPU 780
- Display: Up to 180Hz (FHD+) or 120Hz (WQHD+)
- Camera: Up to 320MP single camera or triple 32MP cameras, 4K video recording at 60fps
The Dimensity 8350 offers a modest upgrade over the 8300, primarily focused on gaming performance. While it’s a capable mid-range chipset, it remains to be seen if the performance improvements will be noticeable in real-world usage.
