The MediaTek Dimensity 9400 is expected to boast the most powerful graphics on the market.
Everyone is waiting for the next-generation flagship chipsets from MediaTek and Qualcomm but the former may go first.
A new leak revealed the announcement date of the MediaTek Dimensity 9400. Aside from that, the leak also suggests that this chip may have the best graphics on the market.
The Dimensity 9400 will have three clusters and eight cores. The architecture is:
- 1 x 3.63 GHz Cortex-X925
- 3 x 2.8 GHz Cortex-X4
- 4 x 2.1 GHz Cortex-A725
Leaked benchmarks revealed that D9400 has 30% higher performance versus D9300 on single-core CPU performance, and the latter was an absolute monster. The prime core of D9400 only needs 30% of the power consumption that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 needs to do similar tasks. Compared to D9300, D9400 is around 35% more power efficient.
But games and photography, enhanced by AI, will likely be the stress points of D9400. The upcoming chipset sports the Immortalis-G925 graphics, which boasts the following improvements:
- Up to 37% better performance on graphics apps than Immortalis-G720
- Up to 36% faster inference on AI and machine learning networks than Immortalis-G720
- Up to 30% less power consumption on leading games than Immortalis-G720
- Up to 52% higher ray tracing performance on intricate objects than Immortalis-G720
Some of the phones expected to be powered by D9400 include the OPPO Find X8 Series and vivo X200 Series. MediaTek Dimensity 9400 is expected to be unveiled on October 9.
