MediaTek describes the upcoming processor as a “Pro chip” built for a “Pro experience,” with a focus on efficiency, imaging, and gaming.

4K 240fps and AI-enhanced gaming

The company has confirmed that the new chip will support 4K slow-motion video recording at up to 240fps.

Gaming is also a major focus, with MediaTek teasing:

  • AI-enhanced graphics
  • An upgraded HyperEngine
  • Immersive ray tracing

These features could bring more advanced lighting and graphics effects to supported mobile games.

Is this the Dimensity 9600 Pro?

MediaTek has yet to officially reveal the chipset’s full name, but its repeated use of “Pro” appears to support previous rumors that the new flagship will be called the Dimensity 9600 Pro.

There are still questions about whether MediaTek could also introduce a standard Dimensity 9600 or even a Pro Max version.

Those answers should arrive on September 15, when MediaTek officially reveals its next flagship chip.
