There’s a secret trick to get back Microsoft Paint 3D!
The Microsoft Paint 3D made its final bow on November 4, 2024, leaving many puzzled as to why it needs to be removed. But it doesn’t mean that this cool version of Paint is forever lost.
Before we proceed, know that if you already installed Paint 3D on your device, it’s staying there because future updates won’t remove it. However, clean installs will definitely won’t install the said app.
“3D Viewer and Paint 3D will no longer be preinstalled on clean installs of the latest Insider Preview builds. Both apps will still be available in the Store and will stay on your device after an OS update. So, if you upgraded your PC like normal, you shouldn’t see these apps changed in your app list.”

Reinstalling Paint 3D
The safest way is to download it from the Microsoft Store. Though, you may only see “Get” and are unable to download the app.
Fortunately, someone archived Paint 3D’s files on icedrive.net, according to XDA. The downside is the file size of 600MB and the turtle-speed transfer rate. Try downloading it at different times and maybe you’ll hit faster download speeds.
Once you have the zip file, you can choose which version you want to install on your device. Regardless of the version you pick, it’s not getting any future updates, so no more new features.
