Samsung is set to shake up the mid-range market with its upcoming Exynos 1580 chipset. Leaked benchmarks suggest the chip could rival the performance of flagship processors from 2021, such as the Snapdragon 888 and Exynos 2100.
Featuring a three-cluster CPU design – a first for a mid-range Exynos – the 1580 promises to deliver both powerful performance and improved energy efficiency. The chipset is expected to debut in the Galaxy A56, following in the footsteps of its predecessor, the Exynos 1480.
With a Geekbench score comparable to its 2021 flagship counterparts, the Exynos 1580 has the potential to redefine expectations for mid-range smartphones.
