Motorola Edge 70 Max goes official with Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, 7,100mAh battery, and 144Hz AMOLED display.

This might be Motorola's strongest flagship in years.

Motorola has officially launched the Motorola Edge 70 Max in India, adding a new flagship model to its Edge 70 lineup. The smartphone combines Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor with a large 7,100mAh battery, a 144Hz Quad HD+ AMOLED display, and premium durability features.

The Motorola Edge 70 Max features a 6.8-inch Quad HD+ AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling and gaming. The panel also supports HDR10+ and can reach a claimed 7,000 nits peak brightness, making it one of the brightest smartphone displays available.

For security, the phone includes an in-display fingerprint scanner.

Powering the Edge 70 Max is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor. It comes with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.1 storage.

The smartphone runs Android 16 out of the box. Motorola is promising three major Android OS upgrades along with five years of security updates.

For photography, the Edge 70 Max is equipped with a 50MP Sony LYTIA 710 main camera, paired with an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 2-in-1 light sensor.

On the front, it features a 32MP selfie camera housed inside a centered punch-hole cutout.

One of the phone’s biggest highlights is its 7,100mAh battery, which supports 90W wired fast charging and 25W magnetic wireless charging.

Motorola has also equipped the Edge 70 Max with several premium features. The phone has an IP69 rating for dust and water resistance, MIL-STD-810H military-grade certification, an aluminum frame, and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection on both the front and back.

Other features include stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, Wi-Fi 7, GPS, dual-SIM 5G, and a USB Type-C port.

Price and availability

The Motorola Edge 70 Max will be available in Pantone Dark Shadow, Pantone Ice Melt, and Pantone Aqua Gray.
