The Motorola Edge 70 Ultra is making waves online. A series of leaked renders has given us our first real glimpse of the upcoming device. The images hint at a bold new design and potential flagship-level specs.
The combination of design changes and performance upgrades could make this one of the more interesting phones coming early next year.
Design Overhaul
The renders show a textured back panel. This is a departure from the smooth eco-leather used in previous Edge models. The texture looks like it will improve grip and give the phone a more rugged, premium feel.
A large, square camera module dominates the upper-left corner. It houses a triple-camera setup along with an LED flash. Early speculation points to a wide, ultra-wide, and periscope telephoto combination. None of this is confirmed yet.
There’s also an extra physical button on the side. Rumors suggest it could serve as a dedicated AI or shortcut key. Overall, the chassis looks premium, likely metal, and the Motorola branding is subtle and centered.
Expected Hardware
Leaks and benchmark results hint at serious performance. Geekbench shows the device with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset and 16 GB RAM. Multi-core scores hit around 7,475, putting the phone in high-end territory. The GPU is reportedly an Adreno 829.
Rumors also point to a large OLED display, possibly around 6.7 inches with 1.5K resolution. The camera setup is expected to include a periscope telephoto lens. Motorola seems intent on pushing zoom capabilities in this Ultra model.
Remaining Questions
Several details remain unknown. Display specs such as refresh rate, brightness, and whether it will be flat or curved are still unconfirmed.
The function of the extra AI button is speculative. Launch date and pricing haven’t been officially announced yet.
Based on past Motorola releases, a global rollout could happen in early 2026, but nothing is official at this point.
