Following last June’s launch of the Razr 40 and Razr 40 Ultra, Motorola is gearing up to release their successors. Leaks have already revealed details about the higher-end Razr 50 Ultra, but let’s take a closer look at the standard Razr 50, also likely to be called the Razr 2024 in North America.
The most striking upgrade is the significantly larger 3.63-inch cover display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, a big improvement over the Razr 40’s tiny 1.5-inch display. Unfolding the phone reveals a spacious 6.9-inch pOLED main screen with a crisp 1080×2640 resolution.
Under the hood, the Razr 50 boasts MediaTek’s Dimensity 7300X processor, paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The camera system features a 50MP main sensor alongside a likely 13MP ultrawide lens. The phone maintains the same 4,200mAh battery as its predecessor and runs the latest Android 14 out of the box. With a thin profile of 7.2mm and a weight of 188g, the Razr 50 promises a comfortable folding experience.
The Razr 50 appears to be a solid upgrade over the Razr 40, particularly with the larger cover display. Whether Motorola maintains the previous generation’s price point remains to be seen, but the rumors surrounding the Razr 50 Ultra suggest a potential price hold.
