Motorola Rizr Rollable phone concept will blow your mind!

The Rizr exhibits similar design elements with its predecessor with its unique sliding display that exposes the physical keyboard. The company introduced the Motorola Rizr Rollable three years after the successful launch of its Razr phone.

Despite being a lot of people’s favourite, the product failed to attain the same cultural significance as its forerunner.

Since the release of that product 17 years ago, many things have evolved. However, after reviving the Razr phone as a foldable device, the company plans to reintroduce the Rizr through this concept. As with the Razr, it is evident why the corporation chose to revisit the former brand. One could argue that the 2023 Rizr serves as a spiritual successor to the 2006 model.

The latest edition of the Rizr replaces the sliding mechanism with a rolling screen, hence the word play “Rizr.” Although we’ve previously seen proofs of concept for the technology, the idea is similar to foldables. This is probably because its screen technology is created to accommodate more phones in smaller spaces. The default model has a small 15:9 screen measuring five inches. However, when particular applications are launched, gestures triggered, or orientation altered, it extends to a 22:9 aspect ratio and 6.5 inches.

Undoubtedly, it’s an impressive feature. However, it’s important to acknowledge that mobile phone manufacturers are increasingly emulating car companies by unveiling conceptual devices. It’s partially a way to measure consumer interest and partly a means of demonstrating to the public. It is also a way to show shareholders, that the company’s research and development department is working on innovative ideas.
