According to new findings in Samsung’s internal system code, One UI 8.5 is already under development. It’s a surprise move, especially since One UI 7, which is based on Android 15, has faced a rough rollout. Reports of bugs and stability issues led Samsung to briefly pull the update from its servers, and it hasn’t exactly bounced back yet.
For context, One UI 7 was meant to ship with the Galaxy S24 series and upcoming foldables like the Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6. But with delays piling up, Samsung might be shifting gears toward a cleaner slate with the 8-series.
