OnePlus has confirmed that the upcoming Ace 5 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, a significant upgrade from its predecessor, the Ace 3. Notably, the Ace 4 was never released due to tetraphobia.
The standard Ace 5 will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, while the Ace 5 Pro will take performance to the next level with the cutting-edge Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC. Both devices will offer impressive battery capacities of at least 6,000mAh, sleek flat metal frames, convenient optical fingerprint sensors, and visually stunning 1.5K 8T LTPO OLED displays sourced from BOE.
The Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro will boast a versatile camera setup, including a 50MP primary sensor and two additional lenses. While a periscope telephoto lens appears to be reserved for OnePlus’s flagship numbered series at present, these models will still deliver excellent photography capabilities.
Although the Ace 5 Pro is anticipated to remain exclusively available in China, OnePlus is expected to introduce the Ace 5 to international markets under the OnePlus 13R moniker, likely coinciding with the launch of the flagship OnePlus 13 series. This strategy aligns with the previous release of the Ace 3, which was successfully marketed as the OnePlus 12R in regions outside of China.
