OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra: Specs, Speed, and Sadness (If You’re Not in China)

Another day, another phone launch! And this one, the OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra, coming out of China, is making some serious noise in the spec department. If you love powerful phones with crazy fast charging, you’re gonna want to hear about this, even if it’s just to admire from afar (for now, anyway).

Specifications

First off, the screen sounds pretty sweet. We’re looking at a 6.83-inch flat LTPS OLED display. Forget curved edges here; it’s all about that flat panel goodness. It’s got a sharp 1.5K resolution and a buttery-smooth 144Hz refresh rate. For gaming, scrolling, or just watching videos, that combo is tough to beat.

Powering this whole operation is MediaTek’s top-tier silicon, the Dimensity 9400+. This chip is no slouch – it’s designed to compete with the best mobile processors out there and has the benchmark scores to prove it. Pair that with up to a whopping 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage, and you’ve got a phone that’s basically laughing at demanding apps and huge game libraries. Multitasking? Heavy gaming? No problem, this thing seems built for it.

Now, this is where the Ace 5 Ultra really gets interesting for me. OnePlus managed to stuff a massive 7,000mAh battery into this phone. In a world where many flagships hover around the 5,000mAh mark, 7,000mAh is genuinely impressive. This should mean seriously good battery life, getting you through even the most hectic days.

And when you eventually do need to charge? Boom! 100W wired charging. We’ve seen OnePlus and their sister companies do this before, and it’s still awesome. Low battery anxiety becomes a thing of the past when you can get a huge chunk of charge back in just a few minutes. It’s a total game-changer.

For cameras, it’s a dual 50MP setup on the back, apparently the same as the Ace 5 Racing Edition, plus a 16MP front camera. Solid specs, though perhaps not the bleeding edge of mobile photography. It seems the “Ultra” here is focused more on raw performance and power delivery.

The big asterisk on the Ace 5 Ultra is its availability. Like previous Ace models, this one is launching as a China exclusive. It’s a common strategy – launch high-spec, aggressively priced phones in a super competitive market first. While it’s a bit of a bummer for the rest of us, it sometimes gives us a sneak peek at tech or features that might eventually make their way into global OnePlus or Oppo devices down the line. Pricing isn’t officially confirmed in the global sense, but conversions from leaked Chinese pricing suggest it could be quite competitive for the specs offered.

So, the OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra: a spec monster with a fantastic display, a top-tier chip, and battery/charging that puts many phones to shame. It’s a clear statement from OnePlus about pushing performance in their Ace line. While we might have to admire this particular device from afar, it’s exciting to see this kind of hardware being packed into a phone, and hopefully, some of that “Ultra” goodness makes its way to international markets in the future!
