OnePlus has officially launched the Ace 6 Ultra, a gaming-focused smartphone that brings flagship power, a massive battery, and a dedicated controller accessory built for mobile gamers. Alongside the phone, OnePlus also introduced a new gaming controller designed specifically for the device.
Unlike the standard Ace 6 and Ace 6T, the Ace 6 Ultra is powered by MediaTek’s flagship Dimensity 9500 chipset. The processor is built to handle high-refresh gaming, with OnePlus claiming support for 165fps gameplay across six popular titles, including League of Legends: Wild Rift, Clash of Clans, Soul Knight, and Subway Surfers.
The Dimensity 9500 features a 12-core Mali-G1 Ultra GPU, which reportedly delivers more than double the ray tracing performance and a 33% overall graphics performance boost over the previous generation. Its octa-core CPU also includes the new ARM C1-Ultra core, said to provide a 32% gain in single-core performance.
OnePlus says the Ace 6 Ultra can run Delta Force at 165fps for three hours straight without performance drops, while averaging just 4.6W power consumption.
Powering the device is the second-largest battery ever used in a OnePlus phone. It carries a dual-cell 8,600mAh battery, rated for up to five years of use. According to the company, that battery can deliver 7.4 hours of gaming at 165fps or as much as 13.6 hours of navigation.
Charging is equally aggressive with 120W fast charging support. OnePlus says the battery reaches 53% in 20 minutes and a full charge in 49 minutes. The phone also supports bypass charging, allowing external power to run the device directly during gaming sessions for lower heat and reduced battery wear.
On the front, the Ace 6 Ultra sports a 6.78-inch BOE OLED display with 1,272 x 2,772 resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate. It is a 10-bit panel with Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and 100% DCI-P3 color coverage. Brightness peaks at 3,600 nits at 25% APL. The display uses DC dimming above 70 nits and high-frequency PWM dimming below 70 nits.
For cameras, the phone includes a 50MP main rear camera with a 1/1.55-inch sensor, f/1.8 lens, and OIS, paired with an 8MP ultra-wide camera using a 16mm f/2.2 lens. Up front is a 16MP selfie camera with the same 23mm focal length as the main rear camera. Video recording goes up to 4K 60fps on the rear camera, while the selfie shooter tops out at 1080p 30fps.
Build quality also gets attention. The Ace 6 Ultra uses an aluminum alloy frame, while the front is protected by tempered glass. The rear panel differs by colorway, with the Ace Awakening version using tempered glass and the Metal Storm model using regular glass.
Additional hardware includes symmetrical stereo speakers, an X-axis linear motor for enhanced haptics, and an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner. The USB-C port is limited to USB 2.0 wired data, meaning no video output support.
Durability is another highlight, with the device carrying IP66, IP68, and IP69K ratings, covering splash resistance, water submersion, and hot water jets.
The newly launched gaming controller is sold separately and adds four rear buttons with 1.8ms response time. It does not include joysticks or face buttons, but it does add an extra antenna for stronger signal reception, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB-C charging port on the bottom. It also includes a magnetic mount for an optional cooling fan, which is sold separately. Its retractable design means it should support other phones as well.
The OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra is now available in China, with launch pricing including a CNY 300 discount across all versions. The gaming controller is currently available for pre-order at CNY 450 (around $65).
