OnePlus is expected to follow last year’s dual-launch approach in China, pairing the upcoming OnePlus 16 with the OnePlus Ace 7. While recent leaks have focused heavily on the OnePlus 16, new details are now shedding light on what the Ace 7 could bring to the table.
According to a Weibo post from tipster Digital Chat Station, an engineering prototype of the OnePlus Ace 7 is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.
The device is said to feature a 6.78 inch flat OLED display with 1.5K resolution. One of its standout elements is the refresh rate, which is reported to reach as high as 240Hz, with 185Hz mentioned as the minimum confirmed level.
The Ace 7 is reported to carry a 9,000mAh battery paired with 100W charging support.
The prototype unit also includes a built in cooling fan. There is no confirmation if this feature will be present in the final retail version.
The leak does not include specific camera details for the Ace 7. The focus remains on performance, which may result in a less versatile camera setup.
For context, the previous OnePlus Ace 6 featured a 16 megapixel front camera along with a 50 megapixel and 8 megapixel dual rear camera system. The Ace 7 may retain a similar configuration with possible sensor improvements.
The OnePlus Ace 6 remained exclusive to the Chinese market. It is still unclear whether the Ace 7 will expand beyond China.
