OnePlus won’t launch Open 2 this year as it plans to innovate it with more unique experiences.
If you’re waiting for the OnePlus Open 2, you need to wait longer because the brand just postponed its launch this year. This is confirmed by Vale G., product manager of OnePlus Open.
After careful consideration, they decided to hold off the launch of OnePlus Open 2 this year. The reasons weren’t specified but Vale G. said that they’ve considered the timing and their next steps in foldable devices.

Is OnePlus leaving this segment? No. The product manager clarified that “this is not a step back, it’s a recalibration” with a promise to bring fresh, unique experiences to users.
They also added that regular software updates, security patches, and after-sales service will continue as usual.
OnePlus Open 2 was expected to be powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite, 16GB RAM, and up to 1TB ROM. It’s also speculated with three 50MP rear cameras and a 20MP selfie snapper.
But that’s no more with the brand’s decision. We may see OnePlus Open 2 next year with a new Qualcomm flagship and other innovative specs and features currently in the works. Who knows, perhaps it may become a tri-fold smartphone too!
