While everyone went bananas with the launch of the Reno14 Series 5G, there’s one phone that flew under everyone’s radar: the OPPO A5i. The company’s new entry into the budget phone market.

Unlike its flashy bigger siblings, the A5i doesn’t have the most powerful chip or the most stunning display. What it does have, however, is a large display, big battery, and durability, all for just under ₱6,000.
Looks-wise, the A5i shares a similar design language to its bigger sibling, the A5 Pro, featuring that boxy camera module that looks like a phone from a certain fruit brand.

Let’s talk specs. The OPPO A5i is equipped with a 6.67-inch HD+ IPS LCD screen which supports a 90Hz refresh rate. Driving all that is a Snapdragon 6s Gen 1 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and either 64GB or 128GB of storage.
Despite the two camera cutouts, the OPPO A5i only has a single 8 MP rear camera, plus a 5 MP front-facing camera. If you’re buying this phone, my guess is that you don’t really care about that. What you care about is the large battery and added durability.
If that’s what you want, then good news: the OPPO A5i comes equipped with a 5100 mAh battery which supports 45W SUPERVOOC charging. For protection, the A5i comes standard with an IP54 water and dust resistance, plus compliance with MIL-STD 810H ensuring improved durability.
Price and Availability
Right now, there are two colors for the OPPO A5i: Purple and Nebula Red. You can purchase the A5i through OPPO’s official online stores at Shopee and Lazada. It currently retails for ₱4,399 for the 4GB/64GB model, while the 4GB/128GB model retails for ₱5,299.
