OPPO has quietly launched the OPPO Reno 15A in Japan, introducing a smartphone that may look familiar to some users. The device shares the same model number and core hardware as the OPPO Reno 15F, suggesting that it is essentially a rebranded version designed specifically for the Japanese market.
Despite the new name, the Reno 15A brings a compelling mix of battery life, fast charging, durability, and camera features.
Up front, the smartphone features a 6.6-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, 10-bit color depth, and up to 1,400 nits peak brightness when used outdoors. The panel is protected by AGC Dragontrail STAR D+ glass, while an in-display fingerprint scanner handles biometric security.
Powering the device is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset, paired with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.
One of the biggest highlights of the Reno 15A is its large 7,000mAh battery, which supports 80W fast charging as well as 55W PPS charging for compatible chargers.
For photography, the Reno 15A is equipped with a 50MP main camera with OIS, accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP macro sensor. On the front, users get a 50MP selfie camera, making it one of the standout features of the device.
The phone also comes with a solid list of extras, including NFC, Bluetooth 5.1, USB Type-C audio, and microSD card expansion. Software duties are handled by ColorOS 16 based on Android 16.
Durability is another area where the Reno 15A stands out. The device carries IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings, providing protection against dust, water, and high-pressure water exposure.
