Years ago after their very first smartphone release under the Reno category, ang pinakabago nilang offering, ang OPPO Reno8, might be their best Reno smartphone yet!
The basics
The OPPO Reno8 comes in a minimalist sea green colored box na may bold texts, confidently showing the brand off that screams ‘we are the guys’! Mukhang totoo naman, dahil OPPO for the most part has become one of the best brands around when it comes to quality.
What’s inside the box?
Sa loob ng box makikita naman ang kaniyang jelly case, warranty information guide, ang sim ejector pin, at ang kaniyang charger at type-C cable.
First impressions
Sa unang tingin pa lang sa OPPO Reno8, talagang sobrang stunning niya na, sa likuran makikita na sobrang smooth ang kaniyang design, but wait, even though smooth siya, hindi siya kapitin ng smudges dahil sa kaniyang matte finish.
Nakasulat ang OPPO branding sa lower right corner na aakalain mong nagtatago siya dito. Mapapansin din na parang may slight gradient effect siya na nagko-compliment sa camera bump at border na mukhang sobrang sleek.
That display!
Pagdating naman sa kaniyang display, the latest and the trendiest lang ang dapat sa OPPO Reno8. With a 6.4 inch display na talagang malaki na at pinalaki pa lalo ang effect dahil sa kaniyang super thin bezels match with a left punch hole display, talagang in na in ka dito!
AMOLED na din siya, at may 90Hz kaya naman no worries when using it outdoors, with a PPI of 411, walang problema siya sa mga extremely bright areas o kahit sa tanghaling tapat.
The camera?
Ito na nga ang pinagmamalaki ng OPPO Reno8: ang kaniyang cameras na perfect for low-light setups, dahil pagdating sa night shots, walang problema ang cameras nito na mag-process with such speed and precision, kumpara sa ibang camera phones na kailangan mo pang i-hold still ng ilang seconds magkaroon lang ng maayos na kuha.
But here, whether point-and-shoot ang style mo or gusto mong magpaka-Pro mode, there’s something for everyone here. Mayroon siyang 50MP wide, 8MP ultrawide, at 2MP macro. Can it game?
The short answer is…definitely! With the Dimensity 1200 na sinamahan ng 8GB or RAM at 128GB of internal storage (hindi nga lang expandable since walang microSD slot), kayang-kaya kahit anong games dito sa OPPO Reno 8. With an AnTuTu score of around 600,000 points, mae-enjoy mo ang any AA/AAA games with ease!
Sa usapang battery naman, bukod sa malaki na ang battery capacity at 5000mAh, hindi rin problema ang charging kasi naka-80W SuperVOOC lang naman siya, napuno ang battery namin from 20% to 100% in just 21 minutes lang (or isang game ng Battle Royale sa COD: Mobile).
Other aspects
5G na ang OPPO Reno 8, may loudspeaker pero walang headphone jack, may Dual Nano-SIM slot, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, NFC, Type-C, OTG kaso walang FM Radio siya. Parehas glass ang kaniyang display at likod. May fingerprint ( na under display at optical, sheesh), accelerometer, gyro, proximity, at compass.

The OPPO Reno8 definitely packs a punch pagdating sa kaniyang camera, it has a big battery with an even better super fast charger, and a modern look– but we can’t help to look at this mid-range smartphone that looks like a flagship one maybe incorporate the various features we all love like the headphone jack, the expandability and add the fact that you should learn a thing or two about the cameras to properly reproduce a stunning photo.
