Design

Both the HONOR 200 Pro and realme GT 6 are premium-looking smartphones but each has a different take on aesthetics.

HONOR raised the bar with an elegant coastline design on the HONOR 200 Pro. See that wave of the sea? It’s inspired by nature. The curved screen is equally appealing to the eyes and is seemingly floating at a closer look.

realme, on the other hand, emphasized urbanity on the realme GT 6. The phone’s back features an advanced glass manufacturing process to awe users of its pristine design. It also sports a curved screen for an extra flare.

If you prefer a flashy impact that works with any fashion choice, the HONOR 200 Pro is the pick. But if you want a subtle stunner, the realme GT 6 is the one for you.

Protection

The HONOR 200 Pro and realme GT 6 are good outdoor companions with IP65. Both are dust tight and resistant to water jets from all directions. Though, neither phone can handle strong jets and can only resist water from the outside.

Despite that limitation, the rating still lets you use your phone rain or shine to capture moments on the fly with worry.

Speaking of the outdoors, observe the peak outdoor brightness of the HONOR 200 Pro and realme GT 6 below.

Performance

With Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 under the hood, we expect that both HONOR 200 Pro and realme GT 6 have flagship-like performance.

The realme GT 6 comes with a unique Geek Power Tuning where you can tweak the CPU clock speed. Raising the clock speed can increase performance but at a risk of higher temperatures. Lowering the clock speed may impact your gaming experience but it reduces heat.

The power to adjust CPU clock speed lets you determine the sweet spot between performance and battery life. Though, Geek Power Tuning only works on select titles. You can go for GT Mode instead to unleash the default maximum performance on other games.

The HONOR 200 Pro, meanwhile, features the GPU Turbo X for improved response touch, higher frame rates, and PC-like visuals. But what separates it from other “gaming enhancers” is its ability to utilize the CPU, GPU, and NPU cores via an algorithm to boost game performance without neglecting battery longevity.

While it can’t stop games from draining power during long hours of plays, it will help stabilize frame rates so you can enjoy your gaming sessions.

When it comes to thermals, both have a large passive cooling system to disperse heat quickly.

The realme GT 6 comes with a 10,014 square-millimeter vapor cooling chamber with nine layers. Meanwhile, the HONOR 200 Pro comes with a 5,565 square-millimeters VC made of stainless steel.

Despite the smaller VC size on the HONOR 200 Pro than the realme GT 6, the former includes a total heat dissipation area of 36,881 square-millimeters.

Let’s move to the gaming test where thermals and battery were measured on three popular mobile games: Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Call of Duty: Mobile, and Genshin Impact.

realme GT 6

Gaming TitleBase BatteryBattery DrainBase TemperatureMax Temperature
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang94%7% (87%)35℃40℃; 5℃ difference
Call of Duty: Mobile87%4% (83%)26.9℃33.2℃; 6.3℃ difference
Genshin Impact76%8% (68%)34.7℃41.3℃; 6.6℃ difference

For 15 minutes of gameplay, the realme GT 6 suffered no concerning issues linked to overheating, battery drain, or performance. Take note that these games were played at the highest graphics settings and frame rates allowed, explaining the battery percentage drops.

HONOR 200 Pro

Gaming TitleBase BatteryBattery DrainBase TemperatureMax Temperature
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang100%4% (96%)31.2℃36.8℃; 5.6℃ difference
Call of Duty: Mobile89%3% (86%)29.8℃33.6℃; 3.8℃ difference
Genshin Impact84%7% (77%)33.8℃40℃; 6.2℃ difference

For 15 minutes of gameplay on each title, the HONOR 200 Pro also exhibited no concerning issues, be it thermal, battery, or performance. We noticed, however, that it consumed a bit less power on MLBB and a bit more on Genshin Impact. While we couldn’t be certain about the reason, the values weren’t substantial versus the performance potential of the device.

Camera

These two upper mid-rangers have a triple-rear camera setup. While the realme GT 6 has the typical selfie camera, the HONOR 200 Pro boasts a dual-selfie camera setup.

Let’s have a quick glance of their camera specs:

Both the HONOR 200 Pro and realme GT 6 can capture subject colors and details with good accuracy. They can also record videos at max resolution of 4K.

But the ultimate test is which one can mimic pro-level shots? That’s why we took images in a studio-like condition to determine which smartphone can get close to pro-level photography.

With HARCOURT, the HONOR 200 Pro takes the lead. Excellent vibrance, great light accuracy, and good saturation are apparent. The subject also blended well with the background.

The realme GT 6 captures have their own merits, like good sharpness when zooming certain elements. The images are more natural looking but the lenses’ light sensitivity may lead to oversaturation.

For usual captures, we also placed them side-by-side for you to judge.

If you’re into portraiture, the HONOR 200 Pro is more than ready to help you practice your photography skills.

As mentioned, the two handsets can record 4K videos. See their recording capabilities below.

Audio

Equipped with stereo speakers, the HONOR 200 Pro and realme GT 6 deliver an immersive audio experience. But these two use different audio engines to keep users engaged in whatever they’re doing.

The realme GT 6 has OReality Audio, dual-mic noise cancellation, and Hi-Res Audio. Meanwhile, the HONOR 200 Pro has the HONOR Histen 7.1 spatial audio and stereo amplifier support for 200% max volume.

However, the best audio experience is exclusive to wired headphones or headsets. Wired audio connectivity lets you hear distinct sound effects compared to stereo speakers or wireless accessories.

Battery

These two smartphones have tanky batteries. The HONOR 200 Pro sports a 5,200 mAh battery pack while the realme GT 6 has 5,500 mAh. The most obvious difference between these two is the charging rate.

The former supports 100 W with SuperCharge technology while the latter supports 120 W with SUPERVOOC charging. In the real world, both handsets charge incredibly fast and won’t need an hour to fully charge.

The realme GT 6 obviously won the race of charging from zero to 100%. But the HONOR 200 Pro has better battery tech, thanks to silicon-carbon.

Silicon-carbon battery tech is currently viewed as a frontrunner of the next-generation mobile batteries. It’s recognized as more efficient and more durable under extreme cold than lithium batteries.

Suggestions

  1. Bypass Charging: Neither HONOR 200 Pro nor realme GT 6 supports bypass charging. While it’s more commonly used for gaming, the feature is also applicable in long periods of video recording.
  2. Higher IP rating: Considering their prices, the IP65 rating is a bit low. Perhaps IP67?
  3. Better Chipset: Although it comes with interesting AI features, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 isn’t a flagship chipset unlike the previous top-tier Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. In fact, SD 8 Gen 2 has a better GPU in Adreno 740 than the other only with Adreno 735.

Final Thoughts

The HONOR 200 Pro and realme GT 6 are two different upper mid-range smartphones with the same core. Inside, they share the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. Outside, they are total strangers.

The realme GT 6 is essentially performance and AI in a pocket, sprinkled with decent cameras and reliable UI. Its design speaks class, novelty, and astuteness, perfect for users who don’t want too much attention.

The HONOR 200 Pro is fundamentally a dynamic camera in a compact size, accompanied with inventive qualities. Its design represents elegance, luxury, and affluence, matching those who want to be in the spotlight.

Yet the winner is the embodiment of mobile optics, HONOR 200 Pro, a smartphone that’s a bang for your buck!

The HONOR 200 Pro comes with 12+512 GB memory and 66 W wireless charging at an SRP of PHP 29,999. On the other hand, the realme GT 6 is offered with 12+256 GB and no wireless charging for PHP 34,999.
