PHNet, the handler of the edu.ph domain was hit with a Denial of Service Attack, better known as a DDoS attack. DICT Undersecretary Jeffrey Dy was made aware of the issue and have already contacted PHNet to offer assistance to restore services.
DDoS attacks happen by flooding the websites with erroneous traffic, denying legitimate requests to be processed. Schools like UP, UST, and Colegio de San Juan de Letran has already put out statements regarding the issue, assuring users that their team is already working on a possible fix.
