Here are Xiaomi devices saying goodbye to future software upgrades and patches.
HyperOS 2.0 is coming soon but not every Xiaomi device can get it. This is because many models have reached their end of life (EOL) or end of stage (EOS). It’s normal and often suggests you need to upgrade asap.
So, what devices have reached their end of life cycle?
- Xiaomi
- Xiaomi M1 to M10 devices like Mi 1, Mi 2, Mi 3, Mi 4, Mi 9 Lite, Mi 9 SE, Mi 10 Lite, and Mi 10 Pro.
- Xiaomi Mi Note and Mi Mix models like Mi Note 2, Mi MIX, Mi MIX 2, and Mi MIX 3.
- Xiaomi Mi A Series like Mi A1, Mi A2, and Mi A3.
- Xiaomi Mi Pad devices like Mi Pad, Mi Pad 2, and Mi Pad 4.
- Xiaomi Civi.
- Redmi
- Redmi 1 to 9 models like Redmi 1, Redmi 2, Redmi 3, Redmi 9, Redmi 9 Prime, and Redmi 9A.
- Redmi Note Series like Redmi Note 4, Redmi Note 7, and Redmi Note 9.
- Redmi K Series like Redmi K20, K30, and K40.
- POCO
- POCO F1 and F2 Pro.
- POCO X Series like POCO X2 and X3.
- POCO M Series like POCO M3 and M3 Pro 5G.
- POCO C31.
Those are just some of the devices that reached EOL or EOS. To give meaning, EOL means a device is no longer receiving major software upgrades but may still get security patches. EOS means no further software updates.
A known indicator of EOL is the default two-year window of software support of Android. The indicator of EOS is usually three or four years since the device was launched. However, Xiaomi may indicate different rules for some models, particularly flagships.
