How about its camera?

The POCO F5 has a pretty sweet camera system. It’s got three lenses on the back: a 64MP main sensor, an 8MP ultrawide sensor, and a 2MP macro sensor. The main sensor is great for taking high-quality photos with good detail and dynamic range. The ultrawide sensor is perfect for taking landscape shots or group photos, and the macro sensor can be used to take close-up shots of small objects.

On the front, there’s a 16MP selfie camera that takes great selfies. It has a number of features, including portrait mode, night mode, and AI beauty mode. Portrait mode blurs the background of your selfies, creating a professional-looking portrait. Night mode takes longer exposures to capture more light in low-light conditions, resulting in brighter and less noisy selfies. AI beauty mode automatically enhances your selfies by smoothing your skin, making your eyes bigger, and whitening your teeth.

The POCO F5 takes good outdoor photos. The 64MP main sensor captures mad detail, and the colors are on point. The ultrawide sensor is also dope for taking landscape shots. It captures a wider field of view, which is perfect for capturing big scenes. The macro sensor can be used to take close-up shots of small objects. It has a minimum focusing distance of 4cm, which allows you to get up close and personal with your subjects.

The POCO F5’s portrait mode is pretty good. It can blur the background of your photos, creating a professional-looking portrait. The edge detection is generally accurate, and the colors are well-preserved. However, in some cases, the background blur can be a bit too strong, and the subject can be slightly overexposed. Overall, the POCO F5’s portrait mode is a capable tool for taking great-looking photos.

The night mode on the POCO F5 is really good. In low light, it may capture photographs that are brighter and less noisy. Longer exposure times are used in this mode to catch more light, and AI is also used to enhance the image’s colors and contrast. When trying to capture a shot in the dark, night mode may come in quite handy and produce frequently remarkable results.

The POCO F5 can record video in up to 4K resolution at 30fps. The video quality is generally good, with sharp details and accurate colors. The POCO F5 also has a number of video features, including:

  • Electronic image stabilization (EIS): EIS helps to reduce camera shake, resulting in smoother videos.
  • Slow motion: Slow motion can be used to capture videos in slow motion, which can be used to create cool effects.
  • Time lapse: Time lapse can be used to create videos that show the passage of time in a sped-up fashion.

Overall, the POCO F5’s video quality is good. It’s a capable phone for taking and recording videos.

Performance

Its AnTuTu score is higher than other midrange phones thanks to its newest chipset, the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2. It is a good flagship killer. It is powerful enough to handle even the most demanding tasks, and it is also very efficient, so you can get a long battery life out of the phone.

Gaming

The POCO F5 performed well in gaming tests. It was able to run Call of Duty, Genshin Impact, and Mobile Legends at the highest settings without any lag or frame drops. The phone also stayed cool to the touch even after extended gaming sessions but it became warm in Genshin Impact.

Here are some details about the gaming performance of the POCO F5:

  • Call of Duty: The POCO F5 was able to run Call of Duty at the highest settings with no lag or frame drops. The graphics were smooth and the gameplay was responsive.
  • Genshin Impact: The POCO F5 was also able to run Genshin Impact at the highest settings with no lag or frame drops. The graphics were stunning and the gameplay was smooth for a time, until it became a little warm then the frame drops were noticeable.

User Experience

The POCO F5 runs on MIUI 14, which is a custom skin based on Android 13. MIUI 14 is a pretty polished and user-friendly UI. It’s not too cluttered, and it’s easy to find what you’re looking for.

The home screen is pretty standard. You have your app drawer, your widgets, and your notification shade. Everything is easy to find and use.

Scrolling through the home screen is smooth and fluid. There’s no lag or stuttering. Everything feels responsive.

The customization options in MIUI 14 are pretty good. You can change the theme, the wallpaper, the icon pack, and more. There’s a lot of options to choose from, so you can really make the POCO F5 look and feel like your own.  We have to mention that there’s some bloatware and advertisement as we see in other Xiaomi smartphones.
