Four digits in the model number are assumed to be the release date of the POCO F7.
The next top-tier performer from POCO is likely around the corner after getting its second certification. The smartphone just secured an EEC certification, accelerating the release cycle of the F series.
The EEC certification showed a POCO smartphone with the model number 2412DPC0AG. It’s very close to the alleged model number 2412DRT0AC of the Redmi Turbo 4. Speculations suggest that the POCO 2412DPC0AG is for global markets while the slightly different 2412DPC0AI is for India.
In May, POCO launched the POCO F6 Series composed of a base and a pro model. The former is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 while the latter has the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
The upcoming POCO F7 may have a different processor in the MediaTek Dimensity 8400, currently rumored to power the Redmi Turbo 4. While it looks like a powerful CPU, it’s actually not on par to the Dimensity 9300.
Think of it as “underclocked” to some degree. Still, it scores 1.7 million AnTuTu points, making it a flagship killer.
Besides the processor, reports also mentioned that the POCO F7 will have a 1.5K display panel and 5,500 mAh battery capacity. The charging rate is expected to be at least 90 W like its predecessor.
But among everything that leaked, here’s the most interesting: the digits 2412 in the model number. These are the rumored release date, which translates to December 2024. Take it with a grain of salt though.
