POCO could be preparing one of its biggest battery phones yet. A new leak claims the upcoming POCO X8 Power will pack a massive 10,000mAh battery, alongside a 120Hz AMOLED display and Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset.
The X8 Power would join the existing POCO X8 Pro and X8 Pro Max, with a standard X8 also rumored to be in development.

10,000mAh battery is the main attraction
The X8 Power’s biggest selling point is clearly its rumored 10,000mAh battery.
If the leak is accurate, it would give the phone one of the largest batteries among mainstream smartphones, putting endurance at the center of POCO’s pitch.
The current POCO X8 Pro and X8 Pro Max already focus heavily on battery capacity, with 6,500mAh and 8,500mAh batteries, respectively.
The X8 Power would take that strategy considerably further.
Other reports also point to 100W charging for the X8 Power, although this detail was not included in the original specification information from the latest leak.
Could it really be a Redmi Note 17 Pro Max?
This is where things get interesting.
The leak suggests that the POCO X8 Power could essentially be a rebranded Redmi Note 17 Pro Max. The two phones are reportedly expected to share much of their hardware, following Xiaomi’s familiar strategy of selling similar devices under different brands and names.
The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max is scheduled for its global launch on August 27, making the timing particularly interesting.
However, there are conflicting reports about some specifications between the two devices, so the X8 Power should not be treated as a confirmed Redmi rebrand just yet.
6.83-inch AMOLED with 120Hz
The leaked X8 Power is said to feature a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.
The panel is also expected to use Gorilla Glass Victus 2 for protection.
That would give the phone a relatively premium display package despite its expected mid-range positioning.
Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 and long software support
Performance reportedly comes from Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 5, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage.
The software support could also be a strong selling point. The leak claims POCO will provide four years of OS updates and six years of security updates.
That’s a surprisingly long support window for a mid-range POCO phone and could make the device more attractive to buyers planning to keep it for several years.
Cameras stay relatively simple
The X8 Power is tipped to use a 50MP main camera alongside an 8MP ultra-wide camera.
For selfies, the phone reportedly gets a 32MP front-facing camera.
There is no telephoto camera mentioned in the leak, suggesting POCO is putting more emphasis on battery life and core hardware rather than building a camera-focused device.
A growing POCO X8 lineup
POCO’s X8 family is quickly becoming a crowded lineup.
The X8 Pro and X8 Pro Max are already official, while the base X8 has been rumored alongside the new X8 Power. Recent reports also claim POCO has started teasing two new X-series phones in India, believed to be the X8 and X8 Power.
If the reports are accurate, the X8 Power could sit above the standard X8 while targeting users who simply want the biggest possible battery.
