realme C71: Battery Beast Mode Activated

In the world of budget smartphones, realme’s C-series has stood as a no-frills, endurance beast that provides users with dependable performance that lasts through the day (and possibly more).

realme is looking to further that legacy with the launch of their C71 4G smartphone. Instead of focusing on performance or flashy designs, realme played to their strengths and stuck to their guns improving battery life.

At the heart of the realme C71’s proposition sits a massive 6,300 mAh battery, coupled with a notably fast 45W wired charging. This, for a device under ₱10K, makes for a pretty compelling deal, especially for the blue-collar Filipinos who spend most of their day away from an electrical outlet.

Battery capacity is just one part of the equation; other parts also need to be efficient for the smartphone to truly maximize the capacity it’s been given. This is why realme decided to equip the C71 with a 6.67-inch IPS LCD.

While an IPS LCD panel might not offer the same vibrant colors that an AMOLED display offers, it does offer unparalleled efficiency over the latter. And, to make the shift to IPS LCD easier to swallow, the C71 has support for a 120Hz refresh rate.

Where we feel realme could’ve picked a better candidate is with the chipset used. Inside the C71 lies a UNISOC T7250 chipset. Just like we’ve previously mentioned, the C71 only supports 4G connectivity. Still, the T7250 can offer capable performance for the price without being power-hungry.

Software-wise, the C71 runs on realme UI 6.0 which is based on Android 15. Other notable features include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, NFC, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.2 to name a few.

Currently, we still have no news on whether realme has plans to bring the C71 here in the PH or if it will ever see the light of day here. One thing’s for sure, the affordable smartphone segment is looking to be a diversified bunch.

Do you think the realme C71 is a good buy?
