Meet the realme P4R, a smartphone that puts battery life at the forefront without straying too far from the budget segment.
The headline feature is its 8,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, making it the second-largest battery in the P4 family behind the P4 Power. According to realme, that capacity is enough for up to 12 hours of gaming, 61 hours of calls, or an impressive 169 hours of music playback on a single charge.
When the battery eventually runs low, the phone supports 45W fast charging with PPS compatibility, helping users get back up and running faster.
Despite the huge battery, the P4R isn’t positioned as a performance-focused device. In fact, it shares much of its DNA with the more affordable P4 Lite.
The phone comes with a 6.8-inch IPS LCD display featuring a 144Hz refresh rate and 720p+ resolution. Powering everything is MediaTek’s Dimensity 6300 chipset, paired with 4GB of RAM as standard, while a 6GB RAM option is available for those who need a little more breathing room.
Storage configurations include 128GB and 256GB, and unlike the P4 Lite, the P4R uses UFS 2.2 storage instead of slower eMMC memory. There’s also a microSD card slot for users who need additional storage space.
Where the P4R starts to separate itself from the Lite model is in a few key upgrades.
The camera system receives a substantial boost, moving to a 50MP main rear camera and an 8MP front-facing camera. While those numbers may seem modest on paper, they’re a significant step up from the P4 Lite’s 13MP rear camera and 5MP selfie shooter.
realme has also improved the phone’s durability. The P4R carries an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance, up from the Lite’s IP64 certification. The company also says the device has been tested to survive drops from heights of up to 1.8 meters.
Adding a bit of flair to the package is an RGB notification light integrated into the rear design.
The realme P4R is available in Silver Glare, Lavender Glare, and Titanium Glare color options and is currently up for pre-order in India through Flipkart and realme’s online store.

For comparison, the realme P4 Lite launched at ₹13,000 for the 4GB + 64GB version and ₹14,000 for the 4GB + 128GB model.
The realme P4R may not be the most powerful phone in the series, but it doesn’t try to be. Instead, it focuses on what many buyers care about most: longer battery life, better cameras, improved durability, and practical upgrades that make everyday use a little better without pushing the price too high.
