Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit is almost upon us, and that means new smartphone processors, including the highly anticipated successor to last year’s Snapdragon 8 Elite (well, we say last year’s because it was unveiled in October 2024), the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2.

First Appearance on Geekbench
Adding to the already high anticipation is the appearance of the chip on the popular benchmarking site, Geekbench. Surprisingly, it wasn’t spotted in a mainstream flagship but inside what appears to be nubia’s upcoming REDMAGIC 11 Pro.

While the exact model name isn’t confirmed yet, the listing does confirm it’s a nubia device with the model number NX809J. More importantly, this benchmark run gives us a first real look at the chip’s architecture and performance.
Benchmark Scores and Performance

According to the Geekbench listing, the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 achieved:
- Single-core score: 3,309
- Multi-core score: 10,742
These results were powered by two cores clocked at 4.19GHz and six cores running at 3.63GHz, paired with the Adreno 840 GPU.
For comparison, the overclocked Snapdragon 8 Elite inside the REDMAGIC 10S Pro scored 3,204 (single-core) and 9,864 (multi-core)—and that was with all the cooling tricks, including a vapor chamber, liquid metal, and a dedicated fan.

Overclocked Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 on a Samsung Device

Another Geekbench listing also revealed an overclocked version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, this time inside a Samsung device rumored to be the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
This version pushed performance even further, achieving:
- Single-core score: 3,393
- Multi-core score: 11,515
It still follows the same 2 + 6 core setup, but with the two performance cores boosted up to 4.74GHz.
REDMAGIC 11 Pro: Rumored Firsts
Beyond the chip itself, the REDMAGIC 11 Pro is rumored to be the first gaming smartphone to feature IP68 dust and water resistance—an impressive feat considering it reportedly still packs a built-in cooling fan.
Details on the device are still scarce, but more updates are expected soon. Make sure to stay tuned to our official channels for the latest news on the REDMAGIC 11 Pro and Snapdragon 8 Elite 2.
