RedMagic has confirmed that its next performance-focused flagship, the RedMagic 11S Pro, will launch in China on May 18. Early teasers suggest the company is once again doubling down on raw power, with a strong focus on overclocking and sustained gaming performance.

At the core of the device is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 “Leading Version,” a specially tuned variant of the chip. This isn’t a standard implementation. RedMagic says these chips go through a strict selection process, including three rounds of testing. One of the key stages involves running the silicon at extremely high clock speeds, where only units capable of maintaining stability at up to 4.74GHz move forward.
After that, the selected chips are subjected to additional stress testing under extreme voltage and frequency conditions to evaluate thermal stability, efficiency, and sustained performance. In essence, RedMagic is binning the best-performing Snapdragon chips specifically for the 11S Pro.
For comparison, most smartphones powered by the same chipset across brands like Xiaomi, iQOO, and OnePlus typically peak at around 4.61GHz. Meanwhile, more mainstream flagships such as Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra tend to prioritize balanced performance through more conservative tuning.

The payoff, according to RedMagic, is gaming performance that pushes beyond typical limits. The 11S Pro is claimed to support over 200 games running at up to 2K resolution and 144fps. Titles mentioned include popular shooters like Call of Duty and “Break Through the Dark Zone.” The device also supports advanced features such as resolution upscaling and frame interpolation during gameplay.
However, peak clock speeds alone don’t guarantee a better gaming experience. Sustained performance remains the real challenge, and that’s where RedMagic has historically focused its efforts. The company has consistently experimented with aggressive cooling solutions ranging from vapor chambers to internal fans and liquid cooling systems to keep performance stable over longer sessions. The 11S Pro is expected to continue this approach.
Alongside the smartphone, RedMagic is also preparing to launch a new tablet, the RedMagic Gaming Tablet 5 Pro. The device is rumored to feature a compact 9-inch OLED display with a very high refresh rate, reportedly reaching up to 185Hz. It is also expected to run on the same Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 platform, with configurations offering up to 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.
With its focus on overclocked silicon, high refresh rate gaming, and advanced cooling, the RedMagic 11S Pro is shaping up to be another attempt at pushing mobile gaming hardware beyond conventional limits.
