REDMAGIC 9S Pro launched: 2.36M AnTuTu, SD 8 Gen 3, upgraded active cooling

The REDMAGIC 9S Pro boasts a strong cooling fan capable of 22,000 RPM!

A new gaming smartphone has been deployed and it features a notable major upgrade compared to its predecessor. It’s not the chipset, memory, or refresh rate but something required during long hours of gaming.

The REDMAGIC 9S Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, designed for mobile gamers and hardcore users. For full immersion, the 16 MP selfie shooter is hidden below the 6.8-inch flat OLED panel, which has a resolution of 1116 x 2480.

This panel also features:

• 120 Hz max refresh rate
• 2,000 Hz instant touch sampling rate
• 2,160 PWM dimming
• 1,600 nits of peak brightness
• 100% DCI-P3 color gamut

As of writing, the REDMAGIC 9S Pro seems to lack LTPO technology that allows the OLED panel to drop its refresh rate to conserve power. The lowest is 1 Hz for Always-on-Display, but 24 Hz if the screen is off and AOD disabled.

With a staggering over 2.36 million AnTuTu score, expect the gaming handset to blaze through games and end up scorching to touch. That’s why the brand upgraded the active cooling system to ensure safe temperatures.

Based on what’s revealed, the ICE 13.5 cooling system with 10,182 square-millimeters of total size that works alongside the 22,000 RPM active fan can lower the processor’s temperature by 19.5 degrees Celsius. We don’t know how much it can lower the battery’s temperature though.
