REDMI is continuing to tease its next flagship ahead of launch. After revealing details about the REDMI K100 Pro Max, the company has now confirmed several key specifications of the upcoming REDMI K100 Pro, including a brand-new Snapdragon chipset, a high-refresh-rate AMOLED display, dedicated gaming hardware, and a unique glow-in-the-dark color option.
The REDMI K100 Pro and REDMI K100 Pro Max are scheduled to launch in China on August 11, with pre-orders already underway.
Powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V
REDMI has confirmed through a series of posts on Weibo that the K100 Pro will be powered by Qualcomm’s newly announced Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V chipset, carrying the model number SM8850-1-AB.
The gaming-focused processor was quietly introduced by Qualcomm earlier this week as a new member of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 family. While it shares most of its architecture with the standard Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, it’s designed specifically for performance-oriented smartphones.
According to REDMI, the K100 Pro scored 4.09 million points on the AnTuTu benchmark, highlighting the chipset’s flagship-level performance.
Built for gaming
REDMI is also equipping the K100 Pro with additional gaming-focused hardware.
The phone will feature a dedicated graphics chip, helping improve gaming performance and visual processing, alongside a 3D circulating cold-pump cooling system designed to keep temperatures under control during extended gaming sessions.
These additions reinforce REDMI’s focus on delivering sustained performance instead of relying solely on raw benchmark numbers.
185Hz AMOLED display confirmed
On the front, the REDMI K100 Pro features a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with an impressive 185Hz refresh rate, making it one of the highest refresh rate panels confirmed for a smartphone so far.
While REDMI has yet to reveal additional display details such as brightness or resolution, the high refresh rate suggests the phone is aimed at gamers and users looking for ultra-smooth scrolling and animations.
New glow-in-the-dark color option
REDMI also revealed two color options for the K100 Pro.
One of them is a new Firefly Light Chaser edition featuring a glow-in-the-dark finish, giving the phone a distinctive appearance when viewed in low-light environments.
The handset will also be offered in a more traditional White color option.
Pricing and availability
REDMI says the K100 Pro will be priced at around CNY 4,000 when it goes on sale in China.
The REDMI K100 Pro and REDMI K100 Pro Max will officially launch on August 11, with pre-orders already open in China.
