The REDMI K100 series could be arriving sooner than expected. A new leak suggests one of the upcoming models will pack flagship-level hardware, including a 185Hz display, a massive 9,000mAh battery, a 200MP camera, and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset.
The latest information comes from reliable Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station, who shared details about an engineering prototype believed to be part of the REDMI K100 lineup.
Expected to launch as early as next month
Recent reports suggest Xiaomi could unveil the REDMI K100 series as early as next month.
One reason for the earlier launch is that Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset is reportedly being reserved for the Xiaomi 18 series, which is expected to debut in September. Instead, the first REDMI K100 models are expected to use the current-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 platform.
Flagship display and performance
According to the leak, the prototype features a large flat display with rounded corners and support for a 185Hz refresh rate, making it one of the fastest smartphone displays rumored so far.
The display is also said to use a new panel technology designed to deliver sharper image quality.
Powering the device is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, paired with a dedicated display chip to improve graphics performance, especially during gaming and other demanding tasks.
200MP camera and 9,000mAh battery
For photography, the leaked device is expected to feature:
- 200MP primary camera with a large image sensor
- 50MP periscope telephoto camera for long-range zoom
Battery life also appears to be getting a major upgrade.
The prototype is said to include a battery with a capacity of around 9,000mAh, along with support for:

Digital Chat Station did not reveal the phone’s official name.
However, based on the leaked specifications, the device is expected to launch as either the REDMI K100 Pro or the REDMI K100 Pro Max.
