Xiaomi’s Redmi brand has outlined its upcoming smartphone launches for the remainder of 2024. Following the recent release of the Redmi K70 series (K70e, K70, and K80 Pro) powered by Dimensity 8300, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipsets respectively, focus will shift to the high-performance Redmi K70 Ultra and the next-generation Redmi K80 Pro series.
The Redmi K70 Ultra, equipped with the Dimensity 9300 Plus chipset, is expected to debut in China this July. Later in the year, likely during the fourth quarter, Redmi plans to unveil the Redmi Note 14 Pro series alongside the highly anticipated Redmi K80 Pro.
Redmi K80 Pro: Early Leaks Hint at Powerful Specs
Prominent tech leaker Digital Chat Station (DCS) has shed light on potential specifications for an upcoming Redmi phone, believed to be the K80 Pro. While the device name wasn’t explicitly mentioned, DCS suggests a “sub-series” phone featuring the top-of-the-line Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset, a long-lasting 5,500mAh battery, and a premium flat OLED display with a crisp 2K resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate.
More Redmi Devices on the Horizon
Rumors suggest the standard Redmi K80 will likely adopt the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and share the K80 Pro’s display specifications. Both K80 models are expected to receive a design refresh on the back, possibly incorporating a new glass material.
Details regarding RAM, storage, and camera configurations for the K80 series remain undisclosed. Reports also indicate the development of the Redmi Note 14 Pro series, featuring a 1.5K AMOLED display, a mid-range Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset, and a decent 5,000mAh battery.
