The REDMI Note series has reached a major global milestone, and Xiaomi is celebrating it with the launch of its next-generation mid-range smartphones. The company has officially confirmed that the REDMI Note 17 series will debut later this month, following the announcement that cumulative global sales of the REDMI Note lineup have surpassed 500 million units.
After 12 years on the market, the REDMI Note series has become one of Xiaomi’s most successful smartphone families. To mark the achievement, REDMI teased the upcoming Note 17 lineup, promising improvements in display quality, battery life, durability, and the overall user experience.
According to the company, the REDMI Note series has long focused on delivering strong value in the mid-range segment, and the upcoming Note 17 family will continue that philosophy by offering better build quality, upgraded displays, longer-lasting batteries, and enhanced everyday usability.
One of the biggest surprises this year is the branding. Rather than introducing a REDMI Note 16 series, Xiaomi appears to have synchronized its naming strategy with its flagship lineup by skipping directly to the REDMI Note 17 series.
While Xiaomi has yet to reveal the official specifications, recent leaks have already painted a clearer picture of what to expect. The lineup is rumored to consist of three models: the REDMI Note 17, REDMI Note 17 Pro, and REDMI Note 17 Pro Max.
The standard REDMI Note 17 is expected to feature a 6.83-inch flat OLED display with a 1.5K resolution, powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 processor. It is also rumored to include 67W fast charging, a 50MP primary rear camera, and an optical in-display fingerprint scanner.
Stepping up to the REDMI Note 17 Pro, the device is tipped to offer a flat 1.5K display, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset, a massive 9,000mAh battery, a 50MP main camera, dual stereo speakers, and a fully water-resistant design.
Meanwhile, the REDMI Note 17 Pro Max could become the most feature-packed model in the lineup. Leaks suggest it will feature a flat 1.5K display, MediaTek’s Dimensity 7500 processor, a huge 10,100mAh battery, a 200MP primary camera, dual speakers, and full water resistance.
Xiaomi has not confirmed the exact launch date yet, but with the REDMI Note 17 series officially scheduled to debut this July, it won’t be long before the company unveils the full specifications, pricing, and availability of its latest mid-range smartphones.
