After making its debut in China earlier this year, the REDMI Turbo 5 has officially launched in India, bringing a large battery, flagship-inspired features, and MediaTek’s latest Dimensity chipset to the market.
One of the biggest highlights of the device is its ability to pack a massive battery into a relatively compact body. The Indian variant comes equipped with a 7,540mAh battery, while the Chinese model features a slightly larger 7,560mAh cell. Aside from this small difference, both versions share the same hardware and feature set.
Up front, the REDMI Turbo 5 features a 6.59-inch flat AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 3,500 nits peak brightness, making it one of the brightest panels in its class.
Powering the smartphone is MediaTek’s Dimensity 8500-Ultra chipset. To keep temperatures under control during demanding tasks, REDMI has equipped the device with a 3D Ice Loop cooling system that includes a 5,300mm² vapor chamber.
The chipset is paired with up to 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB UFS 4.1 storage, offering fast performance for gaming, multitasking, and everyday use.
For photography, the REDMI Turbo 5 features a 50MP Sony IMX882 main camera alongside an 8MP ultrawide camera on the rear. Selfies and video calls are handled by a 20MP front-facing camera.
Battery life is expected to be one of the phone’s strongest selling points. The 7,540mAh battery supports 100W wired fast charging and 27W reverse wired charging, allowing users to quickly top up the device or use it to charge other gadgets.
On the software side, the smartphone runs HyperOS 3 based on Android 16. REDMI is also promising four years of Android updates and six years of security patches, providing long-term software support.
The device also includes several premium features, including a metal frame, an in-display fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers, an infrared blaster, and an IP69K rating for enhanced dust and water resistance.
Adding a bit of flair to the design are RGB ring lights integrated into the camera module, giving the Turbo 5 a more distinctive look.
