REDMI just flipped the script on what “mid-range” performance looks like in 2026. The REDMI Turbo 5 has officially launched in China with a specs sheet that punches well above its price tier: flagship-class internals, a truly giant battery, and unusual durability credentials make this one of the more intriguing launches early in the year.

REDMI Turbo 5 specs

The REDMI Turbo 5 sports a 6.59-inch flat AMOLED display with a sharp 2756 × 1268 (1.5K) resolution and a smooth 120 Hz refresh rate. Peak brightness reaches up to 3,500 nits, making it easier to see outdoors. Protection comes from Corning Gorilla Glass 7i.

Design-wise, REDMI keeps things clean and modern with slim bezels, a metal frame, and a glass back. The phone is available in Shadow Black, Light Sea Green, and Auspicious Cloud White color options.

At its core, the REDMI Turbo 5 runs on MediaTek’s Dimensity 8500, built on a 4 nm process, paired with a Mali-G720 MC8 GPU. Memory options go up to 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM, while storage tops out at 512 GB of UFS 4.1, ensuring fast app launches and plenty of room for games and media.

To manage heat, REDMI integrates a 3D ice-sealed circulating cold pump cooling system, assisted by its Rampage Engine, helping maintain stable performance during extended gaming or heavy multitasking.

One of the biggest highlights is the massive 7,560 mAh battery, placing the REDMI Turbo 5 among the battery kings in its segment. Charging is equally impressive, with 100 W wired fast charging and support for 27 W wireless charging, minimizing downtime despite the large battery size.

The camera setup sticks to a reliable configuration. On the rear is a 50 MP Sony IMX882 main sensor with OIS, accompanied by an 8 MP ultra-wide camera. For selfies and video calls, the phone uses a 20 MP front camera.

REDMI went all-in on durability this time. The Turbo 5 carries four IP certifications: IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K. This means resistance against dust, water immersion, high-pressure sprays, and even industrial-grade water jets protection levels rarely seen outside rugged phones.

Out of the box, the REDMI Turbo 5 runs Android 16 with Xiaomi HyperOS 3 on top. Connectivity features include 5G dual-SIM support, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, and NFC.
