REDMI could be preparing its biggest battery upgrade yet. A new leak claims the upcoming REDMI Turbo 6 Max is being tested with a 10,000mAh battery, which would make it the largest battery ever fitted inside a REDMI smartphone if it reaches the final product.
The information comes from reliable Weibo tipster Smart Pikachu, who says the REDMI Turbo 6 Max is currently undergoing testing with the massive battery. If the report is accurate, it would match the rumored 10,000mAh battery expected on the upcoming Chinese version of the REDMI Note 17 Pro Max, although it’s still unclear whether one of the two devices will ultimately offer a larger capacity.
Aside from the battery, the tipster claims the REDMI Turbo 6 Max will feature a minimalist dual-camera setup on the back.
Previous leaks also suggest REDMI could move away from the camera design used on the Turbo 5 Max in favor of a horizontal camera module, giving the new model a noticeably different appearance.
Earlier leaks from another well-known tipster, Digital Chat Station, revealed several additional details about the upcoming phone.
According to those reports, the REDMI Turbo 6 Max is expected to feature a 7-inch flat OLED display with 2K resolution, making it one of the largest displays in REDMI’s smartphone lineup.
The phone is also rumored to be powered by a 3nm MediaTek Dimensity 9-series chipset, which is widely expected to launch as the Dimensity 9600s.
Other rumored features include:
- Metal middle frame
- Ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner
- IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance
These additions suggest REDMI is positioning the Turbo 6 Max as a premium performance-focused smartphone rather than just another battery-centric device.
Smart Pikachu also claims the REDMI Turbo 6 Max is currently scheduled to launch in January, a timeline previously mentioned by Digital Chat Station as well.
The REDMI Turbo 6 series is expected to include two models: the standard REDMI Turbo 6 and the more powerful REDMI Turbo 6 Max.
As always, REDMI has yet to officially announce the Turbo 6 series. Until then, the battery capacity, specifications, design, chipset, and launch schedule should all be treated as leaks and may change before the phones are officially unveiled.
