The Samsung Galaxy A16 5G has a maximum lifespan of six years, thanks to the longest software support on a budget phone.
In Europe, Galaxy A16 5G is powered by the Samsung Exynos 1330 processor. In other markets like India and Thailand, the device will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300.
It has two main storage configurations: 4+128GB and 8+256GB. Store more with the microSD card slot.
Besides a newer CPU, other notable upgrades include the larger 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display and slimmer profile of 7.9mm. However, the Galaxy A16 5G no longer has the 3.5mm headphone jack.
Compared to its predecessor and other budget phones, the Galaxy A16 5G boasts six years of Android software support. It comes with Android 14 out of the box and will be eligible for all major upgrades until October 31, 2030.
It means that the lifespan of this budget smartphone is six years, in theory. Let’s hope that the chipset can handle those upgrades and retain smooth operation throughout its whole life cycle.
The Galaxy A16 5G is now live in Samsung France and its 4+128GB variant is priced at EUR 249 or around PHP 15.5K.
