Samsung is gearing up for the release of its next-generation mid-range device, the Samsung Galaxy A36. Recent Geekbench results have revealed that a prototype of the phone is running on Android 15, a version that Google unveiled just yesterday for its Pixel devices.
While Samsung is expected to roll out Android 15 to its flagship Galaxy S25 series in January, the early testing of the Galaxy A36 with this operating system suggests that it could also launch with Android 15 pre-installed. This would be a significant advantage, as it would guarantee at least six major Android updates, potentially extending its lifespan to Android 21.
Samsung Galaxy A36 specs leak:
Under the hood, the Galaxy A36 is likely to be powered by either the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 or Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset, depending on its GPU. The prototype tested with 6GB of RAM, although Samsung may offer additional RAM options at launch. This marks a departure from the Exynos 1380 SoC used in the Galaxy A35, indicating a potential shift in Samsung’s chipset strategy.
