Meet the next-generation health and wellness companion – the Galaxy Ring.
After weeks of rumors, we finally witnessed the Samsung Galaxy Ring in the recently concluded Galaxy Unpacked in Paris, France. Like the Galaxy smartwatches, the Galaxy Ring is a wearable capable of smart services that can make wellness habits better.
The Galaxy Ring uses three sensors to deeply understand the wearer. These are BioActive Sensor, Accelerometer, and Infrared Temperature Sensor. They can do the following:
- BioActive sensor monitors the wearer’s heart health using a tracking tool.
- Accelerometer tracks the wearer’s walking and running motions without them pressing a button.
- Infrared temperature sensor reads the wearer’s skin temperature changes while they sleep.
Here are the other specs and features of the Galaxy Ring:
- Samsung Health
- Galaxy AI
- Sleep Tracker
- Heart Rate Tracking
- Find My Ring
- Up to 7 days battery life per charge
- IP68 dust and water resistance
Wearing the Galaxy Ring isn’t exactly like wearing an ordinary ring. According to Samsung, you must wear it with the orientation indicator facing your palm. But you can choose any finger where it fits comfortably.
Once worn, you can now connect to your mobile device. The ring requires the Galaxy Wearables app to unlock its full potential.
The Galaxy Ring is currently priced at USD 399 or PHP 23,267.69. It’s an excellent substitute for Galaxy smartwatches for those who don’t own one.
A report suggested that it won’t arrive in the country but another noted that there’s no official word yet about its PH availability.
