The 5G speed of Samsung Galaxy S24 beats the iPhone 16, iPhone 15, and iPhone 14 lineups by a huge margin in some territories.
Everyone expected that the iPhone 16 Series is better across all metrics than the Galaxy S24 lineup because of improved hardware. But according to a study by Ookla, the Galaxy S24 still beats not just one but three iPhone families in the 5G connectivity arena in many regions.
Revealed on November 17, 2024, the Speedtest data from 11 selected countries examined the 5G speed and latency of the iPhone 16 family from September 20 to October 20, 2024. The study included:
- iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max
- iPhone 14 and 15 Series
- Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, Galaxy S24 Ultra
In the Philippines, it was beaten by the Galaxy S24 family with ease at 158.47Mbps average download speed, 16.19Mbps average upload speed, and 32ms average multi-server latency. The Galaxy Series also defeated the iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 families.
However, the iPhone 16 Series takes the crown in Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, India, Taiwan, and the US. The Samsung Galaxy S24 leads in Brazil and Colombia, while the iPhone 14 family steals the spotlight in Mexico.
